Anna Morgan MBE

Anna Morgan MBE

Director of Workforce

Anna Morgan (RGN, BSc Hons Gerontology, MA Leadership for Change) is  Director of Workforce at Norfolk and Waveney Health and Care Partnership. Anna has over thirty years’ experience in nursing mainly in the NHS, five years working in the private Care Home sector and two years in the Department of Health.

Anna has managed a variety of services across Adults, Children’s and Specialist pathways and Anna’s area of clinical expertise is within Gerontology. She is passionate about older peoples’ care and the care for people with dementia.

Anna is also an Executive reviewer for well-led inspections with CQC and a member of the East of England Clinical Senate Council, the Lead nurse and Director Lead for Workforce for the N&W Health and Care Partnership.

Sandy Oosthuysen

N&W Health & Care Partnership Leadership and Organisational Development Lead

A professionally qualified and experienced HR, OD and Training practitioner with extensive knowledge and skills in recruitment, talent and leadership development and management of large scale workforce change programmes.

Sandy’s passion is being involved in supporting cultural transformation that leads to improved staff engagement and higher performing organizations. Her OD role has included developing and commissioning training programmes, supporting teams as well as working at a strategic level with senior executives teams to improve organisational performance and reputation.

As a long standing member of the NHS family she is motivated and driven to achieving excellence in patient care through unleashing the potential in our staff in a culture of compassion and kindness.

Sandy has spent all of her NHS career working in an acute unit as well as supporting individual and team development in CCG’s, primary care and community trusts.

Jo Catlin

Head of OD & Leadership at Norfolk & Waveney CCG

I started with the CCG as Head of Organisational Development & Leadership in September 2020 and feel privileged to be part of the Norfolk & Waveney system team.

I have worked in the NHS since 1993, starting at North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust (formally Peterborough and Stamford Hospitals) and have held a variety of roles and seen lots of changes over the years.

My career in the NHS includes roles in training and development, project management (clinical, non-clinical and strategic), service improvement and operational management. I have been in a dedicated Organisational Development role since 2009.

I have hands-on experience leading major change projects, including the culture change programme pre and post-merger for North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust. In 2017 I was finalist in the HPMA Award for Excellence in Organisational Development for our ‘Good to Outstanding’ OD and staff engagement programme at Peterborough & Stamford Hospitals.

My goal and passion is helping an organisation be a great place to work, which ultimately improves patient experience for the communities we service. I believe this is done by shaping and building a culture where individuals and teams realise and maximise their full potential, interact positively and effectively, engaged in a shared purpose.

As a practitioner I am values driven, open and authentic, and feel very fortunate and proud to work in the NHS, in a profession that I love.

Emma Wakelin

Head of Workforce Transformation

Emma is the Head of Workforce Transformation for Norfolk and Waveney Health and Care Partnership. Her role focuses on the design of workforce transformation initiatives, underpinned and supported by the development of relationships and networks locally, regionally, and nationally.

Emma is passionate about the health and social care sector and in particular improving the quality of population outcomes through integrated working and development of the workforce. She seeks to demonstrate the values of the NHS Constitution in her work and as a role model to others.

Emma believes that a committed, engaged and motivated workforce delivers great care and that culture, leadership and wellbeing should underpin workforce transformation.

The opportunity to work with strategic, operational, and frontline leaders to achieve this is what motivates her to do the best job possible.

Over the last decade Emma has worked in a number of senior roles in both arms-length bodies and at system level.

Emma has a proven track record of delivering impactful programmes aligned to education, quality, workforce planning, leadership and transformation. Emma supported the development of the national Talent for Care Programme, was shortlisted for a HSJ Award for her primary care workforce transformation programme, and was a participant on the 2019/20 Global Healthcare Leadership Programme delivered by Yale University.

Ceinwen Mannall

Assistant Director, Medicines Optimisation & Workforce Projects

I have had a wide range of career experiences in pharmacy and the NHS; including clinical pharmacy, leadership, management and education. From managing a community pharmacy to leading a Health Education commissioning team I have sought to develop teams and support them to thrive in the NHS that never stands still!

My core passion remains in pharmacy and I am proud of achievements delivering education to equip pharmacists to develop their skills and experience. I led the national education programme for clinical pharmacists to support the NHS England innovation to introduce new roles in general practice and supervised over 150 post graduate student quality improvement projects.

In the wider NHS I have been the pharmacy lead for a multidisciplinary Independent Prescribing programme and led the team that delivered 13 education programmes for the National Institute for Health and Care excellence (NICE).

I enjoy collaborating with colleagues and across organisations to bring creative and innovative solutions. I seek to bring hope and fairness to my work, with a ‘can do’ energetic attitude. I am passionate about equity and offer mentoring as well as strategic level initiatives to promote female and BAME careers.

I am proud of giving roots and wings to my three boys who are following their passions in music and computer science. My youngest aspires to study to be a vet, spending all of his free time caring for horses.

Sharon Crowle

Clinical Workforce Education Lead

I am a Registered Nurse who has always had a passion to make a difference to patient care. I have been in the NHS for nearly 25 years and in that time, I have worked in many roles. I started my nursing career as a Staff Nurse on surgical and medical wards and from here I embarked on different roles and projects. I always really enjoyed supporting learners and being involved in education. I had the privilege to work in infection control and as Lead Nurse for women’s health. In all the different roles I have undertaken I always remember that the heart of everything I do is to provide the best care for our patients. I worked for many years supporting students and then moved to a Head of Education and Practice Development position at JPUH. My portfolio has changed tremendously and really enjoy leading on the education agenda and working in partnership with so many amazing people. I have really enjoyed being involved with various project with the Nursing Midwifery Council and Health Education England.

I feel it is important to develop different career pathways and build confidence in individuals, and this was how the Health and Care Academy concept began at JPUH and has now been expanded across the region. I was honoured to receive a silver Chief Nursing Officer award for excellence to nursing for this, which I was humbled to do so.

I am delighted to currently being working the Norfolk and Waveney STP as Clinical Workforce Education Lead as well as continuing to be Head of Education at JPUH.

Health and Social care have so many wonderful opportunities and keen to inspire others to join this sector.

Clodagh Clarry

STP Clinical Educator

As a teenager, I watched a close family member being cared for by a Nurse who was skilled, compassionate and kind. This Nurse became my inspiration and I went on to become an Auxiliary Nurse, being fortunate enough to meet health care professionals who encouraged me to embark upon and complete my Nurse training at the University of East Anglia.

I was fortunate enough to be seconded from the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital to the UEA in 2006 to where I completed my Degree in Adult Nursing.  I have worked as a Registered Nurse in a variety of areas, including the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust where as I worked in the Surgical setting, and at the Genitourinary Medicine (Sexual Health) Clinic.

I have  worked at Norfolk Community Health and Care NHS Trust where I worked as a Specialist Nurse within health inclusion in Primary Care, where it was my privilege to care for patients who were rough sleepers (or at risk of homelessness), ex-offenders, sex workers and travellers. I went on to become Lead Nurse for the Vulnerable Migrant Service, supporting Asylum Seekers and Refugees to improve their health outcomes once dispersed to Norwich.

I have seen the benefits of system working and particularly enjoy education and developing staff to achieve their goals and visions.  My current role involves working as a Clinical Educator with the Norfolk and Waveney Health and Care Partnership to support Trainee Nurse Associates to join our workforce. On a personal note, I am married and a mum of 3 small children who keep me very busy!

 

Justin Brown

STP Clinical Educator

Hello, my name is Justin and I am a Clinical Educator with the Norfolk and Waveney STP.

 

My nursing career began in 2003 when I commenced the three-year training programme, with then Suffolk College, providing me with the skills and knowledge required to register as a nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Council in 2006. Since then, I have worked within several sectors and settings both internationally and nationally, within these I have had a multitude of roles across a wide range of specialities ranging from respiratory conditions to Major trauma, including Staff Nurse, Ward Management and Education.

These different environments have enabled me to enhance my knowledge and skills across the field of nursing and gain experience in various specialisms locally to Norfolk and Waveney, London and as far afield as Melbourne in Australia. Most recently working as a Clinical Educator across Norfolk and Waveney STP supporting learners across multiple sectors to fulfil their ambition of working within the health and care sector.

Throughout my nursing career I have been supported and encouraged to undertake further training and learning, most recently undertaking a Masters’ Degree programme; advancing my skills and knowledge base to best support patients across multiple specialities and sectors. As well as to develop and grow personally and professionally enabling me to support others to provide safe, effective care.

Donna Hill

STP Clinical Educator

My journey began when I was at high school.   I decided that I wanted to help people so I volunteered at a local care home where I would help with the tea and coffee round and at Christmas would make up ‘dance routines’ (although I have 2 left feet) to perform to them in hope to make them smile and cheer them up!

At the young age of 15 I was homeless, this led to me staying with friends so I could finish my GCSE’s and find employment.   After a while, of living in various places I found help from an organisation that provided housing and a support worker – this was fantastic, and this helped me develop life skills and encouraged me to find an apprenticeship.   I contacted a manager from a Residential Care home and completed my NVQ Level 2.

The manager offered me a contract only months into my apprenticeship and I was a valued part of the team.   The apprenticeship was amazing as it gave me the knowledge required and the opportunity to put that into practice.   I have very fond memories of the patients, their families and the staff. After a couple of years, I wanted to learn more, so I applied to work in a community hospital.   This is where I was inspired to become a Nurse.

Very nervously I attended my university interview and awaited the letter to find out if I had been accepted.   In 2007 I began my training at the University of East Anglia (UEA) where I forged some amazing friendships and learned about what I was particularly passionate about.

When I qualified, I joined the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital (NNUH) and began my journey in Older person’s medicine (OPM). I particularly love this speciality about it gave me the opportunity to hear about my patients’ stories and their life experiences, meeting their families and helping them to be as independent as possible. During my time on my first ward I became a first-time mum to my daughter, Isabella.

During my time on the wards I learnt that I loved to help support and teach new starters and different learners, so I decided to apply for a post in Education.  Over a 6-year period I was involved in training and supporting healthcare assistants, registered nurses who joined the Trust.   I worked with Overseas Nurses, Nurses returning to practice, student nurses and apprentices to name a few.

Most recently, I have been leading on a fantastic training opportunity for the NNUH, the trainee Nursing Associate programme, which you can find out more information this website.

I am very excited that I have now joined the STP as a Clinical Educator where I can support and nurture leaners and staff across Norfolk and Waveney and be a part of building on best practice as a system.

Nicola Abel

Norfolk & Waveney Health & Care Partnership Workforce Transformation Project Officer

Nicola,  is currently seconded to the Workforce Transformation Team from her substantive role as LEAD Advisor (Learning, Education & Development) within the Training Team at Norfolk Community Health & Care NHS Trust.

Previously having worked in the fields of HR, Training, and Compliance for over ten years, Nicola gained much of her experience in the public sector.  Nicola holds Associate Membership of Chartered Institute Personnel & Development (CIPD), is qualified at Post Graduate Diploma level in Human Resource Management, and also holds her APM Project Management Qualification (Level 7).

Nicola has worked on small scale projects in the past, including the implementation, rollout and training of a new applicant tracking system for an organisation with over 10,000 employees to reduce costs, make efficiencies, and remove barriers to the application process for all.

Nicola supports the Director of Workforce, Head of Workforce Transformation, and their team to ensure the successful delivery of key programmes aligned to our People Plan (We Care Together).  The role is varied and encompasses responsibility of all aspects of the team/project budgets, design and delivery of executive meetings, collation of key reports, compliance and escalation of issues as required.

In her spare time Nicola enjoys reading psychological thrillers and dining out (pre-COVID of course!).

Nicola has a ‘can do’ attitude and thrives on new opportunities to learn and support with change and improvements system wide.

Jules Alderson

Workforce Transformation Volunteering Project Manager

Jules Alderson is the Workforce Transformation Volunteering Project Manager for Norfolk and Waveney Health and Care Partnership. Inspired by a year of volunteering at Save the Children when she was 18 years old, Jules is a committed and passionate advocate for volunteering and the voluntary sector. With almost a decade of experience working in the voluntary sector before joining the NHS in 2019 Jules has extensive experience of people management, service delivery, partnership working and demonstrates strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Jules successfully led the development and implementation of the Volunteer Service for Norfolk Community Health and Care NHS Trust, playing a key role in the continued development of strategic relationships, raising the profile of, and influencing organisational attitudes towards volunteering.

Jules is motivated by continual quality improvement, striving to keep the individual volunteer experience at the forefront of her work across the Health and Care Partnership.

Jules has recently joined the National Association for Voluntary Servicers Managers (NAVSM) National Executive Committee as their Projects Officer, volunteering her skills and experience to support NHS Volunteer Service Managers across the UK.

She earned a BA Hons degree in Communication and Media Studies from Brighton University, and holds a current Agile Project Management Practitioner certification.

Paul Martin

Health Ambassador and Academy Project Manager

As of November 2019 – Paul has been the Health Ambassador and Academy Lead with the Norfolk and Waveney Health and Care Partnership.

This role oversees the support and promotion of the system’s ‘Get into programmes’ and entry level routes for a wide range of communities across Norfolk. This includes the delivery of work experience, traineeships, Apprenticeships and Academy programmes making Norfolk and Waveney first choice to begin a Health and Social Care career and drive forward the recruitment demand for our future workforce. Paul’s portfolio requires close networking with a range of key stakeholders including schools, colleges, job centres and individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds and reporting to Health Education England.

Prior to this, Paul has spent the last 7 and half years within various roles in the NHS working within both the Communications and Apprenticeship teams.

Workforce Transformation Senior Administrator

My career started in Hospitality and conferencing which then led in to a role in Human Resources. I then spent 11 years in HR covering general mailboxes and phone lines and gaining experience in various areas in order to become a specialist in absence, maternity, relocation, learning & development, recruitment.

I reached a point in my career that I was looking for a new challenge and wanted to progress further. So back in July 2019 I then joined the Workforce Transformation Team for my current role.

 

I am highly organised, proactive in providing timely, efficient and accurate administrative support to employees and key stake holders. Along with having experience in case management, with a proven track record of generating ideas and solutions to a range of complex problems. I feel that my skill set is a great fit for this role and enjoy being able to put these skills to good use.

Within my role I am responsible for supporting the administration support required by the team. From organising meetings/workshops, drawing up agenda’s, circulating papers,  to recruitment, preparing slides, admin support for meetings, looking after the N&W Health & Wellbeing website, ordering of equipment, payment of invoices. I also provide our director Anna Morgan with diary support, managing diary invites and arranging any meetings required or new groups set up needed.

Hayley Maud

TNA Practice Education Administrator

Hayley Maud Is the Practice Education administrator for the Norfolk and Waveney partnership. Hayley’s role incorporates everything Educational including the Trainee Nursing associate programme working closely with the Clinical workforce Education lead and Clinical Educators along with external academic partners. However Education isn’t the only focus, Hayley is involved with supporting the wider Norfolk and Waveney team. From data returns, reports & recruitment to providing administration support for the team, there is never a quiet moment which makes it an enjoyable job.

 

Hayley herself has developed in her 3+ years working for the NHS. Starting her journey into the NHS as an apprentice with Norfolk Community Health & Care NHS Trust, Hayley has since qualified with level 2 and 3 in Business administration. Along with the academic qualifications Hayley gained invaluable experience working with clinical and non-clinical NHS colleagues in Patient Safety (Datix) & Clinical Education. Hayley was introduced to the Trainee Nursing associate programme at the very beginning (September 2018) which has helped Hayley gain extensive knowledge of the programme. After her post with the NCH&C Clinical Education Team, Hayley was successful in obtaining the post where she sits at this present day.

Reflecting on her time working with the NHS Hayley has grown a passion for Education and seeking opportunities for growth personally and for others. Hayley believes we all have a role to fill to make the NHS what it is today and is proud to be a part of it.
