HWB Profession Leads

What are our Professional Leads here to do?

There are four Profession Leads across Norfolk and Waveney. One for each of the four sectors – general practice, dentistry, Optometry, and pharmacy.

With at least a decade of experience in their field, these Leads have been recruited to promote health and wellbeing in your sector of primary care and ensure your views are heard and acted on.  The aim is to make caring for ourselves as natural as caring for our patients.

The Profession leads will:

    • Spend at least a day a week visiting and liaising with practices across Norfolk and Waveney.
    • Help drive health and wellbeing awareness among all staff.
    • Provide updates and regular information to all primary care staff via email and other methods.
    • Attend local meetings as the champion of Health and Wellbeing.
    • Act as your voice, championing your concerns at both a local and regional level.

Primary Care Professional Lead for Health and Wellbeing across NW ICB

Dr Nick Stolls

For the past 40 years I have worked as a dentist in general practice in Norfolk both as an associate, before and after practice ownership. For much of that time I represented my colleagues both on the Local Dental Committee in the county and more widely on the General Dental Practice Committee for England and Wales. It was a privilege and a pleasure to try and make a difference to the lives of colleagues I considered friends and part of my dental family.

So I was excited to be asked to help develop this project known as #WeCareTogether with my colleagues and their teams to provide a new resource which will be available to all dentists and staff members, NHS or private, across the CCG region of Norfolk and Waveney. Getting the message out to all those who could make use of it is difficult and it is often those who are most at need of an initiative such as this who  will be least aware. It is for all of us to look out for our colleagues, support them and make them aware that a facility such as this exists.

”My aim is that no one in the county in primary care dentistry should be in need of refreshment but can’t access it. Let’s CareTogether. ”

HWB Profession Lead Optometry

Catherine Hedges

I’m Catherine Hedges, an Optometrist with over twenty years of experience in East Anglia. I have a great passion for my work. This is reflected in the wide variety of different interests I have within the profession. I have worked in community Opticians, in hospital Ophthalmology clinics and at Anglia Ruskin University too.

I take great pride in building relationships which allow me to influence and support those around me. I strive to be the best I can be and my determination to succeed ensures I achieve my goals.

I fully understand the added pressures faced by Optometrists in Primary Care in recent years. For this role, I am committed to ensuring that every Opticians practice in Norfolk is aware of the Health and Wellbeing resources we have available to support their teams.

HWB Profession Lead Pharmacy

Rebekah Mann

Rebekah Mann

I am a community pharmacist and have worked across Norfolk in various roles for the last 12 years. I started my career as a counter assistant at the age of 15 and fell in love with the ability to do a job that supported and helped the community.

Once qualified I trained as a manager and led varying sizes of pharmacy teams and retail business’.

My passion has always been focused around supporting and developing the team around me to enable them to be at their best for our customers every day. Within pharmacy we have a very unique opportunity to impact our patients health and wellbeing on a daily basis, and with this they grow to develop a significant amount of trust in us and the services we provide.

I thoroughly enjoy being part of a community and in my new position as pharmacy lead for health and wellbeing, I hope to bring my passion and enthusiasm for pharmacy to support others working in those environments. To understand the challenges and enable them to receive the best support possible  and in turn ensure we have a sustainable future in community pharmacy within Norfolk and Waveney.

”In support of my own health and wellbeing we spend a significant amount of time outside come rain or shine with our dog, the coast being one of our favourite haunts. ”
