Our Health and Social Care course will help young people learn more about the wide range of roles and specialties in the sector and prepare them for jobs they are passionate about – whether that’s within the NHS or in a Care Home.
You’ll discover the right role and career path for you, receive training to become a competitive job applicant, and meet employers near you who are hiring for the job you want.
WHO: Young people aged 16-30 who are motivated and ready to work!
WHEN: 9th November – 11th December
WHERE: Take part remotely from home using your phone or computer!
HOW THE COURSE WORKS:
Week 1: Get ready
This week we’ll spend time getting to know you, introducing you to the sector, and finding out what kind of job you’d be interested in. We’ll also be running some interactive sessions with employers who can give you first-hand tips and advice.
Behind the scenes this week, we’ll be speaking to employers around the local area to find vacancies that match what you’re looking for and suit your experience level.
Week 2: Get started
This week, we’ll be running preparation for getting you a job. This includes shaping a CV that’s right for the job you’re looking for and teaching you how to navigate online and in-person interviews for the sector.
Weeks 3-5: Get into
For the first two weeks, we’ll be helping you get a qualification for Level 1 in Health and Social Care, which is an industry-recognised qualification that will help set you above the competition when applying for jobs.
During the final week, we’ll run mock interviews with you, and set up live interviews with employers who are hiring near you.
Don’t forget!
- The programme is eligible for young people aged 16-30 who live within a commutable distance for jobs in the Central/East England (Essex, Suffolk, Norfolk, Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Milton Keynes) area.
- All the sessions will take place online. Ensure you have access to Microsoft Teams on a preferred device (i.e. phone, laptop, tablet)
- Be prepared to start work immediately. Before you sign up, think about how the current government measures will affect you and the people at home with you.
After registering your details, a Prince’s Trust Executive will give you a call to check that you’re eligible for the programme (i.e. you’re aged 16-30 and ready for a new job) and confirm your place.
