Volunteering Stories
Kelly, Volunteer
JPUH
I’m a busy mum of 6 girls, I volunteer at the James Paget University. We answer general questions, give directions, push patients and family in wheelchairs, take notes to clinics and just help out where needed.
I had some spare time after a family member passed away that I had cared for, and the hospital seemed like a good place to start.
I think we help people who sometimes have no one else to ask and this can take pressure off staff.
I enjoy the help and assistance with give. I also enjoy seeing the other volunteers who I now class as friends.
