Menopause Awareness
World Menopause Day 18th October
World Menopause Day is held every year on the 18th of October. The purpose of the day is to raise awareness of the menopause and the support options available for improving health and wellbeing across our system. We encourage professionals and women to participate in this global awareness raising campaign by printing and sharing these materials, organising events to engage their communities, and sharing World Menopause Day social media posts. https://www.imsociety.org/education/world-menopause-day/

ICS Menopause Awareness Training
Menopause can have an effect on us all, whether we’re experiencing menopause directly or supporting a family member, friend or colleague. While some will sail through menopause, 3 in 4 experience symptoms and as many as 1 in 4 have serious symptoms. However, around half have never consulted a healthcare professional about their menopause.
Research also shows that the majority of those experiencing the menopause are unwilling to discuss menopause-related health problems with their managers or ask for any support that they may need. We’re passionate about the wellbeing of our colleagues and that means talking about menopause openly, so please join these series of webinars dependant on your role:
ICS Menopause Advocate: Train the Trainer Programme
ICS Menopause Advocate: Train the Trainer Programme
As a system Norfolk and Waveney ICS want to ensure that as many organisations as possible have a trained menopause advocate in the workforce to support our staff and take our menopause awareness programme forward. Advocates will need to attend all three training sessions which will be provided via Microsoft Teams.
We would also like to see how you are able to take this forward in your workplace, giving us feedback and participating in quarterly zoom meetings, this is to ensure you feel supported, opens discussion and allows us to see how you are getting on. This interactive programme is split into three 2 hour session webinars, participants will gain practical skills and resources in how to run workshops and support groups and provide peer support, along with planning for raising awareness across your organisation.
